How fast is your basenji? The FAST CAT is a timed 100-yard dash for dogs, run individually. Your dog earns points based on speed and can earn titles as the points accumulate. The AKC issues the titles and keeps a list of the fastest dogs in each breed.

Straight track racing for sighthounds only, chasing a fur covered squawker (lure). Up to 4 muzzled dogs run together. The course length is 200 yards.
You will need to do some practice releasing your dog from the box, and get your dog comfortable wearing a muzzle. But beyond that no additional training is required. Your dog will need to be comfortable running with other dogs.
Oval track racing for sighthounds only, chasing a fur covered squawker (lure). Up to 4 muzzled dogs run together. Course lengths vary from about 240 yards to 440 yards.
You will need to do some practice releasing your dog from the box, and get your dog comfortable wearing a muzzle. But beyond that no additional training is required. Your dog will need to be comfortable running with other dogs.
