Is your basenji a good example of the breed based on the official breed standard? One way to find out is to enter a conformation show and let the judge decide which basenji most closely resembles the “perfect” basenji. Typically, the dog must be intact (not neutered or spayed) and also registered with AKC or UKC (within the United States) to participate.
This requires a moderate amount of training for your dog in standing in a show pose, gaiting around the ring, and allowing a judge to examine him/her.
